Erik Stenstadvold is a Norwegian classical pianist who has gained international recognition for his virtuosic performances and interpretations of classical repertoire. Born on May 22, 1977, in Oslo, Norway, Stenstadvold showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. He quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and began studying with renowned Norwegian pianist Einar Steen-Nøkleberg. Stenstadvold's early musical education was focused on the classical repertoire, and he quickly developed a deep appreciation for the works of composers such as Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. He also began to explore the works of more contemporary composers, including Debussy, Ravel, and Prokofiev. In 2003, he was awarded the Grieg Prize, one of Norway's highest honors for classical musicians. He has also been awarded the Sibelius Prize, the Pro Musica Prize, and the Diapason d'Or, among others.
