Ellen McSweeney is a highly accomplished classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a violinist, composer, and educator. Born in 1985 in Chicago, Illinois, McSweeney grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to classical music from a young age. Her mother was a pianist and her father was a composer, and they both encouraged her to pursue her passion for music. McSweeney began playing the violin at the age of four and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. She studied with renowned violinists such as Almita Vamos and Roland Vamos, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a Master of Music degree from the University of Michigan.
