Zachary Reaves was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his mother being a pianist and his father a cellist. From a young age, Reaves showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. He later learned to play the cello and violin, and by the age of ten, he was already composing his own music. Reaves attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied composition under the tutelage of renowned composer John Adams. Some of his most notable works include his Piano Concerto No. 1, which was premiered by the Berlin Philharmonic in 2012, and his opera The Tempest, which was commissioned by the Royal Opera House in London and premiered in 2015. In addition to his work as a composer, Reaves is also an accomplished pianist and conductor. He has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the London Symphony Orchestra. He is also a sought-after guest conductor, and has led performances with the Vienna Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Despite his success, Reaves remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to compose and perform, and is known for his tireless work ethic and commitment to excellence.
