The Bournemouth Symphony Youth Chorus is a classical music ensemble that has been making waves in the music industry since its inception. The group was founded in 2005 by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, with the aim of providing young people with the opportunity to develop their musical talents and perform at a professional level. The Bournemouth Symphony Youth Chorus is made up of talented young singers aged between 13 and 19 years old, who are selected through a rigorous audition process. The group has also collaborated with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. One of the highlights of the Bournemouth Symphony Youth Chorus's career was their performance at the BBC Proms in 2010. The group performed alongside the BBC Symphony Orchestra in a rendition of Benjamin Britten's War Requiem, which was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3. The group has also been awarded the prestigious Platinum Award at the National Festival of Music for Youth, which recognises excellence in youth music.
