He then worked as a conductor and pianist in various German cities until 1938 when he fled Nazi Germany and moved to the United States. In the US, Haas started working as a pianist and conductor in various orchestras and music schools. He also started hosting a radio program called "Adventures in Good Music" in 1959, which became his most famous work. The program was broadcasted on more than 400 radio stations in the US and Canada and was also syndicated internationally. Haas's "Adventures in Good Music" program was unique in its approach to classical music. Haas believed that classical music should be accessible to everyone, not just to the elite. He used storytelling and humor to explain the history and context of the music, making it more relatable to the audience.
