She studied voice at the University of Manitoba and later at the University of Toronto, where she earned a Master of Music degree. Ludwig's career began to take off in the early 2000s, when she won several prestigious competitions, including the Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition and the Jeunesses Musicales National Voice Competition.
