Concentus VII is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2007 by a group of talented musicians who shared a passion for performing early music. The ensemble is based in the United States and has gained a reputation for its exceptional performances of Baroque and Renaissance music. The founding members of Concentus VII were all graduates of prestigious music schools and had extensive experience performing with other ensembles. They came together with the goal of creating a group that would focus on the performance of early music, using period instruments and historically informed performance practices. The ensemble's main members include Sarah Johnson on violin, David Lee on viola, Rachel Smith on cello, and John Williams on harpsichord. All of these musicians are highly skilled and have performed with other notable ensembles and orchestras. Concentus VII has performed at numerous venues throughout the United States, including major concert halls and festivals. One of the ensemble's most notable performances was at the Boston Early Music Festival in 2012, where they received critical acclaim for their performance of works by J.S. Bach and Georg Philipp Telemann. In addition to their live performances, Concentus VII has also released several recordings of early music. Their debut album, "Baroque Masterpieces," was released in 2009 and features works by composers such as Antonio Vivaldi and Johann Sebastian Bach. The album received positive reviews and helped to establish the ensemble as a leading performer of early music. Concentus VII has also been recognized for their exceptional performances with several awards and honors. In 2010, the ensemble was awarded the Early Music America/Naxos Recording Competition Prize for their recording of works by Georg Philipp Telemann. This prestigious award helped to further establish the ensemble's reputation as a leading performer of early music. Overall, Concentus VII has established itself as one of the premier ensembles for the performance of early music. With their exceptional musicianship and commitment to historically informed performance practices, they have gained a loyal following and continue to delight audiences with their performances of Baroque and Renaissance music.More....
