Britt Pernille Lindvik is a Norwegian classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a soprano singer. Born on May 22, 1985, in Oslo, Norway, Lindvik grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a pianist, and her mother was a singer, so it was only natural that she developed an interest in music at a young age. Lindvik started singing in choirs when she was just six years old. She quickly discovered that she had a natural talent for singing and began taking private lessons. Her parents were supportive of her musical aspirations and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Lindvik attended the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, where she studied under the tutelage of renowned vocal coach, Ingrid Bjoner. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance in 2008 and went on to pursue a Master's degree in Music Performance at the same institution. During her time at the Norwegian Academy of Music, Lindvik participated in several competitions and won numerous awards. In 2006, she won first prize in the Norwegian National Singing Competition, and in 2007, she won the prestigious Léonie Sonning Music Prize. After completing her Master's degree, Lindvik began performing professionally. She made her debut as a soloist with the Norwegian National Opera in 2010, where she played the role of Pamina in Mozart's "The Magic Flute." Her performance was well-received, and she quickly became a sought-after performer in Norway. In 2012, Lindvik made her international debut at the Salzburg Festival in Austria. She played the role of Susanna in Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro," and her performance was praised by critics. She went on to perform in several other international festivals, including the Glyndebourne Festival in England and the Aix-en-Provence Festival in France. Lindvik has also performed with several renowned orchestras, including the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. She has worked with many esteemed conductors, including Esa-Pekka Salonen, Daniel Harding, and Sir Simon Rattle. In addition to her performances, Lindvik is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught at the Norwegian Academy of Music and the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo. She is passionate about passing on her knowledge and experience to the next generation of musicians. Lindvik's repertoire includes a wide range of classical music, from Baroque to contemporary. She is particularly known for her interpretations of Mozart's operas and has been praised for her ability to bring depth and emotion to her performances. Throughout her career, Lindvik has received numerous awards and accolades. In 2014, she was awarded the Norwegian Music Critics' Award for her performance in "The Marriage of Figaro." In 2016, she was awarded the prestigious Statoil Scholarship, which is given to outstanding Norwegian artists. Lindvik continues to perform and teach, and she remains a beloved figure in the Norwegian classical music scene.
