Miles Osland is a renowned classical music artist who has made significant contributions to the world of music. He was born on August 22, 1953, in Louisville, Kentucky, and grew up in a family that valued music. His father was a jazz musician, and his mother was a music teacher. Miles Osland started playing the saxophone at the age of 10 and quickly developed a passion for music. Miles Osland attended the University of Kentucky, where he earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1975. In 1991, he joined the faculty at the University of Kentucky, where he currently serves as the Director of Jazz Studies and Professor of Saxophone. Throughout his career, Miles Osland has performed with numerous orchestras and jazz ensembles. He has also recorded several albums, including "The Osland Saxophone Quartet," "The Osland/Dailey Jazztet," and "The Osland Saxophone Orchestra." His music has been featured on radio and television programs, and he has performed at major music festivals around the world. One of the highlights of Miles Osland's career was his performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland in 1995.
