Yana Reznik is a renowned classical pianist who has captivated audiences around the world with her virtuosic performances and deep musicality. Born in Moscow, Russia, in 1983, Reznik showed an early aptitude for music and began studying piano at the age of five. Her parents, both professional musicians, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Reznik's early training was rigorous and demanding, but she thrived under the guidance of her teachers. She quickly developed a reputation as a prodigious talent, winning numerous competitions and awards throughout her childhood and teenage years. By the time she was a young adult, Reznik had already established herself as one of the most promising pianists of her generation. In 2001, Reznik moved to the United States to attend the Colburn School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles. There, she studied with renowned pianist and pedagogue John Perry, who helped her refine her technique and deepen her understanding of the music she was playing. Reznik quickly made a name for herself in the Los Angeles music scene, performing in prestigious venues such as the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. In 2005, Reznik graduated from the Colburn School with a Bachelor of Music degree. She then went on to earn a Master of Music degree from the University of Southern California, where she studied with acclaimed pianist and teacher Daniel Pollack. During her time at USC, Reznik continued to win awards and accolades, including the prestigious USC Concerto Competition. After completing her studies, Reznik embarked on a career as a soloist and chamber musician. She has performed with orchestras around the world, including the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the San Diego Symphony. She has also collaborated with some of the most celebrated musicians of our time, including violinist Joshua Bell and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Reznik's repertoire is vast and varied, encompassing everything from Bach and Beethoven to contemporary composers such as John Adams and Philip Glass. She is known for her passionate and deeply expressive interpretations of the music she plays, as well as her technical prowess and virtuosity. One of Reznik's most memorable performances took place in 2010, when she played Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra in her hometown of Moscow. The concert was a triumph for Reznik, who received a standing ovation from the audience and rave reviews from critics. In addition to her performing career, Reznik is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. She has taught at the Colburn School and the University of Southern California, and has given masterclasses and workshops around the world. She is passionate about sharing her love of music with the next generation of musicians, and is committed to helping young pianists develop their skills and find their own artistic voices. Throughout her career, Reznik has received numerous awards and honors for her contributions to the world of classical music. In 2009, she was named a Steinway Artist, joining a select group of pianists who are recognized for their exceptional talent and artistry. She has also been awarded the prestigious Gilmore Young Artist Award and the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition. Today, Reznik continues to perform and teach around the world, inspiring audiences and students with her passion and dedication to music.
