Fondazione Orchestra Regionale Delle Marche is a classical music ensemble based in the Marche region of Italy. The orchestra was founded in 1994 by a group of musicians who shared a passion for classical music and a desire to bring high-quality performances to the region. The founding members of the orchestra included conductor and artistic director Daniele Callegari, concertmaster Marco Serino, and principal cellist Francesco Dillon. Over the years, the ensemble has grown to include over 50 musicians, many of whom are from the Marche region. One of the highlights of the orchestra's early years was its performance at the 1996 Pergolesi Festival in Jesi, Italy. The festival, which celebrates the life and work of composer Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, is one of the most important classical music events in Italy. The orchestra's performance was well-received by both audiences and critics, and helped to establish the ensemble as a major player in the Italian classical music scene. Since then, the orchestra has gone on to perform at many other prestigious venues and events, both in Italy and abroad. Some of the highlights include performances at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, and the Teatro Comunale in Bologna. The orchestra has also performed at the Ravenna Festival, the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, and the Festival Pucciniano in Torre del Lago. In addition to its performances, the orchestra has also received numerous awards and accolades over the years. In 2001, the ensemble was awarded the prestigious Premio Abbiati, which is considered one of the highest honors in the Italian classical music world. The award recognized the orchestra's commitment to promoting and preserving the classical music tradition in the Marche region. Another highlight of the orchestra's history was its collaboration with Italian composer and conductor Ennio Morricone. In 2007, the orchestra performed a series of concerts with Morricone, which included some of his most famous film scores, such as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West. The concerts were a huge success, and helped to introduce the orchestra to a wider audience. Today, the Fondazione Orchestra Regionale Delle Marche continues to be one of the most important classical music ensembles in Italy. The orchestra's commitment to excellence and its dedication to preserving the classical music tradition in the Marche region have made it a beloved institution among music lovers both in Italy and around the world.
