He later earned a PhD in composition from the University of Huddersfield, where he studied with Richard Barrett and Aaron Cassidy. Shlomowitz's music is known for its playful and experimental nature, often incorporating elements of popular culture and everyday sounds. His compositions often feature unconventional instruments and performance techniques, such as using balloons or toy instruments.
