He was born on 15th May 1950 in London, England. From a young age, Swift showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. His parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. Swift's musical journey began when he enrolled at the Royal Academy of Music in London at the age of 18. He studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and composer, Sir Adrian Boult. Swift's talent and dedication to music were evident from the start, and he quickly became one of the academy's most promising students. After completing his studies, Swift began performing in various concerts and recitals across the UK. His performances were well-received, and he soon gained a reputation as a talented pianist. In 1975, he made his debut at the Royal Albert Hall in London, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5. The performance was a huge success, and Swift received critical acclaim for his interpretation of the piece. Over the years, Swift continued to perform in various concerts and recitals across the world. He was known for his exceptional technique and his ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music he played. Some of his most notable performances include his rendition of Chopin's Nocturne in C-sharp minor, which he performed at the Carnegie Hall in New York in 1982, and his performance of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2, which he played with the London Symphony Orchestra in 1990.
