The founding members of Quatuor Girard were violinists Hugues Girard and Agnès Domergue, violist Ludovic Girard, and cellist Fabrice Bihan. The ensemble's name, Quatuor Girard, is derived from the last name of the two brothers, Hugues and Ludovic Girard, who are still active members of the group.
