The New Vienna Soloists is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1986 in Vienna, Austria. The group is known for its unique sound and innovative approach to classical music, which has earned them critical acclaim and a loyal following around the world. The ensemble was founded by violinist and conductor Joji Hattori, who had previously worked with the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna State Opera. Hattori wanted to create a group that would showcase the best of classical music while also exploring new and exciting ways to interpret and perform it. The New Vienna Soloists quickly gained a reputation for their dynamic and engaging performances, which combined technical precision with a deep emotional resonance. The group's members are all highly skilled musicians who bring their own unique perspectives and talents to the ensemble. One of the highlights of the New Vienna Soloists' career was their performance at the 1988 Salzburg Festival, where they received a standing ovation for their rendition of Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik." The group has also performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York and the Royal Albert Hall in London. In addition to their live performances, the New Vienna Soloists have also released several critically acclaimed recordings. Their 1992 album "Bach: The Brandenburg Concertos" was particularly well-received, earning the group a Grammy nomination for Best Chamber Music Performance. Over the years, the New Vienna Soloists have won numerous awards and accolades for their contributions to classical music. In 1991, they were awarded the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art, and in 2001 they received the Golden Medal of the City of Vienna. Despite their many achievements, the New Vienna Soloists remain committed to pushing the boundaries of classical music and exploring new ways to connect with audiences. They continue to tour and perform around the world, bringing their unique blend of technical skill and emotional depth to audiences everywhere.
