Zachary Shemon is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a clarinetist. He was born on August 22, 1985, in the United States and grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a music teacher, and his mother was a pianist, which exposed him to music at a young age. Shemon began playing the clarinet at the age of nine and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He went on to study at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, where he received a full scholarship. After completing his studies at Interlochen, Shemon attended the University of Michigan, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in clarinet performance. After completing his undergraduate studies, Shemon went on to pursue a Master of Music degree at the University of Southern California. During his time at USC, he studied under the tutelage of renowned clarinetist Yehuda Gilad. Shemon also had the opportunity to perform with the USC Thornton Symphony Orchestra and the USC Wind Ensemble. In 2009, Shemon was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship, which allowed him to study at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in Germany. While in Germany, he studied under the guidance of clarinetist Ralph Manno and performed with the WDR Symphony Orchestra. Upon returning to the United States, Shemon began performing with various orchestras and ensembles. He has performed with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the New World Symphony, among others. He has also been a member of the acclaimed chamber music ensemble, the Donald Sinta Quartet, since 2010. One of the highlights of Shemon's career was his performance at the 2012 International Clarinet Association's ClarinetFest. He was awarded first prize in the Young Artist Competition, which is considered one of the most prestigious competitions for young clarinetists. Shemon's performance was praised for its technical proficiency and musicality. In addition to his performances, Shemon is also an accomplished educator. He has taught at the University of Michigan, the University of Southern California, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has also given masterclasses and workshops at various institutions around the world. Shemon has also been recognized for his contributions to the field of music.
