Bence Horváth is a Hungarian classical pianist who has gained international recognition for his virtuosic performances and musical interpretations. Born on May 5, 1993, in Budapest, Hungary, Horváth showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. He quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and began studying with renowned piano teachers in Hungary. Horváth's musical education continued at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where he studied under the guidance of professors such as György Nádor and Balázs Szokolay. During his time at the academy, Horváth won several prestigious awards, including the National Piano Competition for Young Musicians and the International Piano Competition in Rome. After completing his studies at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Horváth continued his education at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, Germany, where he studied with Professor Michael Schäfer. During his time in Munich, Horváth won the International Piano Competition in San Marino and the International Piano Competition in Cagliari. Horváth's career as a concert pianist began to take off in the early 2010s, as he began performing in major concert halls and festivals throughout Europe and Asia. He has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. One of Horváth's most notable performances came in 2015, when he performed at the prestigious International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland. Horváth's performance of Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor was widely praised by critics and audiences alike, and he was awarded the third prize in the competition. In addition to his performances as a soloist, Horváth is also an accomplished chamber musician. He has collaborated with some of the world's leading musicians, including violinist Isabelle Faust and cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras. Horváth's repertoire is wide-ranging, encompassing works by composers such as Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff. He is particularly known for his interpretations of the music of Franz Liszt, and has been praised for his ability to bring out the emotional depth and complexity of Liszt's music. Horváth has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career. In addition to his competition wins, he has been awarded the Junior Prima Prize, the Artisjus Prize, and the Annie Fischer Scholarship. He has also been named a Rising Star by the European Concert Hall Organisation, which has led to performances in some of Europe's most prestigious concert halls. Despite his success as a performer, Horváth remains committed to his role as an educator. He has taught masterclasses at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, and has served as a jury member for several international piano competitions.
