Marianna Kulikova is a classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a talented guitarist. Born on December 28, 1987, in Moscow, Russia, Kulikova grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a guitarist, and her mother was a pianist. From a young age, Kulikova was exposed to music and began playing the guitar at the age of six. Kulikova's talent was evident from the start, and she quickly became a prodigy. She began performing in public at the age of eight and won her first competition at the age of nine. By the time she was 12, she had already performed in major concert halls in Russia and Europe. Kulikova's musical education began at the Moscow State Classical Academy, where she studied with renowned guitarist Yuri Nugmanov. She later continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik "Franz Liszt" in Weimar, Germany, where she studied with Thomas Müller-Pering. Kulikova also attended masterclasses with some of the world's most renowned guitarists, including David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, and Pepe Romero. Kulikova's career as a professional musician began in 2006 when she won the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America International Concert Artist Competition. This competition is one of the most prestigious guitar competitions in the world and has launched the careers of many successful guitarists. Kulikova's win was a major milestone in her career and helped to establish her as a rising star in the classical music world. Since then, Kulikova has performed in major concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. She has also performed at major music festivals, including the GFA Festival, the Koblenz International Guitar Festival, and the Guitar Art Festival in Belgrade. Kulikova's repertoire is diverse and includes works by classical composers such as Bach, Scarlatti, and Sor, as well as contemporary composers such as Leo Brouwer and Roland Dyens. She is known for her virtuosic playing and her ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music she performs. In addition to her solo career, Kulikova is also a member of the Moscow Guitar Quartet, which she co-founded in 2008. The quartet has performed in major concert halls around the world and has released several critically acclaimed albums. Kulikova's talent has been recognized with numerous awards and honors. In addition to her win at the GFA International Concert Artist Competition, she has also won first prize at the International Guitar Competition in Koblenz, Germany, and the International Guitar Competition in Sernancelhe, Portugal. She has also been awarded the prestigious "Young Artist of Russia" award by the Russian Ministry of Culture. Kulikova's recordings have also received critical acclaim. Her debut album, "Guitar Recital," was released in 2008 and was praised for its technical brilliance and emotional depth. Her second album, "La Guitarra Poetica," was released in 2011 and featured works by Spanish composers such as Manuel de Falla and Joaquín Rodrigo. The album was praised for its sensitivity and musicality. Kulikova's success as a musician is a testament to her talent, hard work, and dedication to her craft.
