David Fung is a renowned classical pianist who has captivated audiences around the world with his virtuosic performances and musical sensitivity. Born in Sydney, Australia in 1983, Fung began playing the piano at the age of four and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He went on to study at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and later at the Juilliard School in New York City. Fung's early career was marked by a series of impressive accomplishments. In 2004, he won the Australian National Piano Award, which is considered one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the country. He also won the Juilliard School's Gina Bachauer Piano Competition in 2005, which helped to launch his international career. Since then, Fung has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also given recitals at major venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Sydney Opera House. One of Fung's most notable performances was his debut with the New York Philharmonic in 2011, where he played Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21.
