Parry started playing the piano at a young age and later learned to play the guitar and bass. Parry attended the University of Toronto, where he studied music composition and theory. He also played in several bands during his time at university, including the experimental rock band, The Arcade Fire. Parry joined the band in 2003 and played a variety of instruments, including the guitar, bass, and accordion. In addition to his work with The Arcade Fire, Parry also composed music for film and television. He worked on several projects, including the documentary film, "The Boxer and the Bombshell," and the television series, "The Returned." Parry's first solo album, "Music for Heart and Breath," was released in 2014. The album featured compositions that were performed by musicians who played in sync with their own heartbeats and breathing patterns. The album received critical acclaim and was praised for its innovative approach to music composition. Parry's second solo album, "Quiet River of Dust Vol. 1," was released in 2018. The album was inspired by Parry's travels to Japan and featured a blend of traditional Japanese music and Western classical music. The album was well-received by critics and showcased Parry's versatility as a composer. Throughout his career, Parry was known for his experimental approach to music composition.
