Glen Adsit is a renowned classical music artist who has made significant contributions to the world of music through his exceptional skills as a conductor, composer, and educator. Born in 1961 in the United States, Adsit grew up in a family that valued music and encouraged him to pursue his passion for the art form. Adsit's musical journey began at a young age when he started playing the trumpet. He quickly developed a love for music and began to explore different genres and styles. He went on to study music at the University of Michigan, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in trumpet performance. He later pursued a Master of Music degree in conducting at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. After completing his studies, Adsit began his career as a music educator, teaching at various institutions across the United States. He also worked as a conductor and composer, creating and performing music that was both innovative and inspiring. His work quickly gained recognition, and he was soon invited to perform at some of the most prestigious venues in the world. One of Adsit's most notable performances was his appearance at the 2008 Midwest Clinic, an annual music conference held in Chicago. He conducted the University of Maryland Wind Ensemble, which received critical acclaim for their performance of his composition, "The Night Before Christmas." He has taught at several universities, including the University of Maryland, where he served as the Director of Bands from 2003 to 2019.
