Valérie Millot is a French classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her virtuosic performances and sensitive interpretations of a wide range of repertoire. Born in Paris in 1985, Millot began playing the piano at the age of four and showed an early talent for the instrument. She studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where she earned a first prize in piano performance at the age of 18. After completing her studies, Millot embarked on a career as a soloist and chamber musician, performing in major concert halls throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. She has collaborated with many renowned conductors and orchestras, including the Orchestre National de France, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. Millot has also been a frequent guest artist at international music festivals, such as the Salzburg Festival, the Verbier Festival, and the Ravinia Festival. One of Millot's most notable performances was her debut at Carnegie Hall in 2012, where she played a program of works by Chopin, Schumann, and Liszt to critical acclaim. Millot has also been a laureate of the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, Belgium, and the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth, Texas. In addition to her performing career, Millot is also a dedicated teacher and mentor to young musicians. She has taught masterclasses at conservatories and universities around the world, and has served as a jury member for several international piano competitions. Millot is also committed to promoting contemporary music, and has premiered works by many living composers, including Kaija Saariaho, Philippe Manoury, and Thierry Escaich.
