Zack Rabin is a classical music artist who has made a name for himself in the world of classical guitar. Born in 1993 in New York City, Rabin grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to music from a young age. His father was a jazz pianist and his mother was a classical pianist, so it was only natural that Rabin would develop a love for music. Rabin began playing the guitar at the age of 10 and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He began taking lessons with renowned guitar teacher, Sharon Isbin, and soon after, he was accepted into the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division. At Juilliard, Rabin studied with Mark Delpriora and was mentored by Isbin. Throughout his teenage years, Rabin won numerous awards and competitions, including the 2010 Guitar Foundation of America International Youth Competition and the 2011 American String Teachers Association National Solo Competition. He also performed at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. After graduating from Juilliard, Rabin continued his studies at the Yale School of Music, where he earned a Master of Music degree. While at Yale, Rabin studied with Benjamin Verdery and performed in masterclasses with renowned guitarists such as Manuel Barrueco and David Russell. Since completing his studies, Rabin has continued to perform and record extensively. He has released two albums, "Zack Rabin Plays Bach" and "Zack Rabin Plays Piazzolla," both of which have received critical acclaim. He has also performed with orchestras such as the New Haven Symphony Orchestra and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. One of Rabin's most notable performances was his debut at the 92nd Street Y in New York City in 2017. The concert featured a program of works by Bach, Piazzolla, and others, and was praised by critics for Rabin's virtuosic playing and musical sensitivity. In addition to his performing career, Rabin is also a dedicated teacher. He has taught at the Yale School of Music and the University of New Haven, and has given masterclasses at institutions such as the Peabody Conservatory and the University of Texas at Austin.
