He continued his studies at the Manhattan School of Music, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. He then went on to pursue a Master of Music degree at the Yale School of Music, where he studied with renowned pianist Peter Frankl. Throughout his studies, Cary demonstrated exceptional talent and dedication to his craft. He won numerous awards and competitions, including the prestigious Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition, the Young Concert Artists International Auditions, and the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. These accolades helped to establish him as one of the most promising young pianists of his generation. Cary's career as a professional musician began in earnest after he won the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in 1999. This victory led to numerous performance opportunities, including appearances with major orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
