Ken Warner was born on May 12, 1950, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a jazz pianist and his mother a classical violinist. From a young age, Warner showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Warner's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons and quickly progressed, showing a particular aptitude for classical music. He also began composing his own music at a young age, drawing inspiration from the works of Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach. As a teenager, Warner attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied piano and composition. He continued to excel in his studies and was soon recognized as one of the most promising young musicians of his generation. After graduating from Juilliard, Warner began performing as a concert pianist, playing in venues across the United States and Europe. He also continued to compose music, creating a wide range of works that drew on his classical training and his own unique style. One of Warner's early works was his Piano Sonata No. 1, which he composed in 1972. The piece was well-received by critics and established Warner as a composer to watch. He followed this up with a series of other works, including his String Quartet No. 1 and his Symphony No. 1. In the 1980s, Warner began to experiment with new forms and styles, incorporating elements of jazz and rock into his classical compositions. This led to the creation of some of his most popular works, including his Piano Concerto No. 2 and his Symphony No. 3. Throughout his career, Warner remained committed to pushing the boundaries of classical music and exploring new forms and styles. He continued to compose and perform until his death in 2010, leaving behind a legacy of innovative and inspiring music.
