He was the youngest of three children born to his parents, who were both musicians. His father was a pianist, and his mother was a violinist. From a young age, Bosman was exposed to classical music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Bosman's talent for music was evident from an early age, and he began taking piano lessons with his father. He quickly progressed and began performing in public at the age of six. By the time he was ten, he had won several local competitions and was recognized as a prodigy. In 1968, Bosman's family moved to the United States, where he continued his musical education. He studied at the Juilliard School in New York City, where he was mentored by renowned pianist Vladimir Horowitz. Bosman's talent continued to flourish, and he won several prestigious competitions, including the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 1973. Bosman's career as a concert pianist took off in the 1970s, and he began performing with major orchestras around the world. He was known for his virtuosic playing and his ability to interpret a wide range of musical styles. He was particularly renowned for his performances of the works of Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt. One of Bosman's most memorable performances was his 1980 concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City. He performed a program of works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt, and the audience was captivated by his playing. The New York Times praised his "brilliant technique and musical sensitivity," and the concert was hailed as a triumph. Bosman continued to perform and record throughout the 1980s and 1990s, and he received numerous awards and accolades for his work. In 1992, he was awarded the Order of the Netherlands Lion, one of the highest honors in the Netherlands. He was also awarded the Avery Fisher Prize in 1994, which is considered one of the most prestigious awards in classical music. Despite his success, Bosman remained humble and dedicated to his craft. He continued to practice for several hours a day and was always looking for ways to improve his playing. He was also a dedicated teacher and mentor, and he taught at several music schools throughout his career. Bosman's career was tragically cut short when he was diagnosed with cancer in 2001. He continued to perform and record despite his illness, and his final concert was a benefit for cancer research in 2002. He passed away on August 15, 2002, at the age of 46.
