His parents were both musicians, and they encouraged him to pursue music from a young age. Krachmalnick began his musical training at the age of six, studying the violin with his father. He showed exceptional talent and was soon performing in public. At the age of 12, he made his debut as a soloist with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, playing the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto. Krachmalnick continued his studies at the Juilliard School of Music, where he studied with the renowned violinist Louis Persinger. He also studied with the legendary violinist Jascha Heifetz, who became his mentor and friend. Krachmalnick's career took off in the 1930s, and he quickly established himself as one of the leading violinists of his generation. He made his European debut in 1936, performing with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Wilhelm Furtwängler. He also performed with other major orchestras, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
