Roth's musical education began at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Maria João Pires. He quickly distinguished himself as a gifted pianist, and his talent was recognized by his peers and teachers alike. Roth's dedication to his craft was evident from an early age, and he spent countless hours practicing and perfecting his technique. As a young musician, Roth was drawn to the works of the great composers of the classical era, including Mozart, Beethoven, and Chopin. He was particularly fascinated by the complexity and beauty of their compositions, and he spent many hours studying their works and analyzing their techniques.
