Marquita Lister is a renowned American soprano who has made a name for herself in the world of classical music. Born in 1963 in the city of Houston, Texas, Lister grew up in a family that was passionate about music. Her mother was a church choir director, and her father was a jazz musician. Lister's love for music was evident from a young age, and she began singing in her church choir at the age of six. She attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, where she studied voice and piano.
