Didzis Lielauss is a Latvian classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a talented pianist and conductor. Born on May 5, 1985, in Riga, Latvia, Lielauss showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. He quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and began taking lessons with some of the best teachers in Latvia. As a young musician, Lielauss participated in numerous competitions and festivals, winning several awards and accolades along the way. In 2003, he won first prize at the Latvian National Piano Competition, and in 2005, he was awarded the Grand Prix at the International Piano Competition in Tallinn, Estonia. These early successes helped to establish Lielauss as a rising star in the classical music world. After completing his studies at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, Lielauss continued to hone his skills as a pianist and conductor. He went on to study at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, Germany, where he received a master's degree in piano performance. During his time in Hamburg, Lielauss had the opportunity to work with some of the most renowned musicians in the world, including pianist Evgeny Kissin and conductor Christoph Eschenbach. Since then, Lielauss has performed extensively throughout Europe and Asia, both as a soloist and as a conductor. He has collaborated with some of the most prestigious orchestras in the world, including the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also performed at some of the most renowned concert halls in the world, such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Carnegie Hall in New York. One of the highlights of Lielauss's career as a pianist was his performance of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra in 2010. The performance was widely praised by critics and audiences alike, and helped to cement Lielauss's reputation as one of the most talented pianists of his generation. In addition to his work as a pianist, Lielauss has also made a name for himself as a conductor. He has conducted numerous orchestras throughout Europe and Asia, and has been praised for his ability to bring out the best in his musicians. One of his most notable performances as a conductor was his interpretation of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra in 2015.
