From a young age, Elizabeth showed a natural talent for music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Elizabeth's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking private lessons with renowned violinists and attended the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studied under the guidance of Professor David Takeno. During her time at the Royal Academy of Music, Elizabeth won several awards and competitions, including the prestigious Royal Academy of Music Bach Prize and the Royal Philharmonic Society's Julius Isserlis Scholarship. These awards helped to establish Elizabeth as a rising star in the classical music world. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music, Elizabeth began performing with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. She also performed as a soloist with many of these orchestras, showcasing her virtuosic talent and musicality. One of Elizabeth's most memorable performances was at the 2008 Proms, where she performed the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Her performance was met with critical acclaim, with The Guardian describing her playing as "dazzling" and "mesmerizing." In addition to her performances as a soloist, Elizabeth was also a passionate chamber musician. She was a founding member of the London-based Trio Isimsiz, which quickly gained a reputation for its dynamic and expressive performances. The trio won several awards, including the 2015 Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition and the 2017 Royal Philharmonic Society's Young Artists Award. Throughout her career, Elizabeth remained committed to promoting classical music to a wider audience. She was a regular performer at schools and community centers, and she also worked with several charities to bring music to underprivileged children. In 2019, Elizabeth was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Despite undergoing treatment, she continued to perform and inspire audiences with her music. Sadly, Elizabeth passed away on January 1, 2021, at the age of 35. Elizabeth Lester's legacy as a musician and advocate for classical music lives on.
