From a young age, Elton showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. She later picked up the violin and the cello, and by the age of ten, she was already performing in public. Elton's musical education began at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studied under the tutelage of renowned cellist Jacqueline du Pré. She later went on to study at the Juilliard School in New York City, where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in music. She has also collaborated with many of the world's leading conductors, such as Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, and Zubin Mehta. One of Elton's most notable performances was her debut with the London Symphony Orchestra in 2005, where she performed Edward Elgar's Cello Concerto. The performance was met with critical acclaim, with The Guardian describing Elton's playing as "mesmerizing" and "spellbinding." She was also named a BBC New Generation Artist in 2008, which led to numerous performances and recordings with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. In addition to her work as a soloist, Elton is also an avid chamber musician. She has performed with many of the world's leading chamber ensembles, including the Emerson String Quartet and the Guarneri Quartet.
