Judith Van Wanroij is a Dutch soprano who has established herself as one of the most sought-after performers in the world of classical music. Born on December 17, 1976, in the city of Rotterdam, Van Wanroij grew up in a family that was passionate about music. Her father was a music teacher, and her mother was a pianist, so it was only natural that Van Wanroij would develop an interest in music at a young age. Van Wanroij began her musical training at the Rotterdam Conservatory, where she studied under the guidance of Maria Acda. She later continued her studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where she was mentored by Rita Dams. During her time at the conservatory, Van Wanroij honed her skills as a soprano and developed a deep understanding of the nuances of classical music. After completing her studies, Van Wanroij began her career as a professional singer, performing in various operas and concerts across Europe. Her breakthrough came in 2005 when she won the prestigious International Vocal Competition in s'Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. She has also received critical acclaim for her performances in Handel's Messiah, Bach's St. Matthew Passion, and Mozart's Requiem.
