In 1939, he graduated from Juilliard with a Bachelor of Music degree. After returning to Mexico, Elorduy continued to compose and perform music. He became a professor of composition at the National Conservatory of Music, and he also worked as a pianist and conductor. He was a prolific composer, and his works include orchestral music, chamber music, vocal music, and piano music. One of Elorduy's most famous works is his Piano Concerto No. 1, which he composed in 1943.
