From a young age, Meylan showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Meylan's talent was quickly recognized, and he began performing in public at the age of six. He went on to study at the Geneva Conservatory, where he received his Bachelor's degree in piano performance. He then continued his studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he earned his Master's degree. Throughout his career, Meylan has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has also collaborated with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. One of Meylan's most notable performances was his debut at Carnegie Hall in 2010. He performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5, also known as the "Emperor" concerto, with the New York Philharmonic. The performance was met with critical acclaim, with The New York Times describing Meylan's playing as "virtuosic and deeply expressive." Meylan has also won numerous awards throughout his career. In 2008, he won first prize at the Geneva International Music Competition, and in 2012, he was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant. The grant is awarded annually to young musicians who show exceptional talent and promise in their field. In addition to his performing career, Meylan is also a dedicated teacher. He has taught at the Geneva Conservatory and the Royal Academy of Music, and he currently serves as a professor of piano at the Juilliard School in New York. Meylan's repertoire is vast and includes works by some of the greatest composers in history, including Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, and Schumann. He is known for his technical prowess and his ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music he plays. Despite his success, Meylan remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to push himself to new heights and is always looking for ways to improve his playing. His passion for music is evident in every performance, and he is widely regarded as one of the most talented pianists of his generation.
