Gwinnett Young Singers is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1991 in Gwinnett County, Georgia. The ensemble was created to provide young singers with an opportunity to develop their musical talents and perform in a professional setting. The founding members of Gwinnett Young Singers were a group of parents and music educators who recognized the need for a high-quality youth choir in the area. They wanted to create an ensemble that would provide young singers with a challenging and rewarding musical experience, while also promoting the arts in the community. Over the years, Gwinnett Young Singers has grown to become one of the premier youth choirs in the Southeastern United States. The ensemble is made up of over 200 singers, ranging in age from 8 to 18 years old. The group is divided into several different choirs, based on age and skill level. One of the highlights of Gwinnett Young Singers' history was their performance at the 2002 World Choir Games in Busan, South Korea. The ensemble was one of only a few American choirs invited to participate in the prestigious event, which brought together choirs from around the world to compete and perform. Gwinnett Young Singers has also performed at several other notable events and venues, including the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and the Georgia Music Educators Association Conference. The ensemble has also collaborated with several professional orchestras, including the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra. In addition to their performances, Gwinnett Young Singers has also received numerous awards and accolades over the years. The ensemble has been recognized for their excellence in music education and performance by organizations such as the American Choral Directors Association and the National Endowment for the Arts.
