Artemis Chamber Ensemble is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2004 by a group of musicians who shared a passion for chamber music. The ensemble is based in New York City and is known for its innovative programming and dynamic performances. The founding members of Artemis Chamber Ensemble were violinist Ani Kavafian, cellist Carter Brey, and pianist Mihae Lee. Kavafian and Brey are both renowned soloists who have performed with major orchestras around the world, while Lee is a highly respected chamber musician and collaborative pianist. Over the years, the ensemble has expanded to include a rotating roster of musicians, including some of the most talented and accomplished chamber musicians in the world. One of the highlights of Artemis Chamber Ensemble's career was their performance at the 2008 Mostly Mozart Festival in New York City. The ensemble performed Mozart's Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor, K. 478, with pianist Emanuel Ax. The performance was widely praised for its virtuosity and sensitivity, and it cemented Artemis Chamber Ensemble's reputation as one of the most exciting and innovative chamber ensembles of our time.
