He studied at the Seoul National University and the New England Conservatory of Music, where he earned his Master of Music degree. Jun has won several awards and competitions, including the First Prize at the Korea Times Music Competition and the Second Prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians. Trio Apollon was founded in 2012, when Choi, Lee, and Jun were all studying at the New England Conservatory of Music.
