Richard Childress was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Childress showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Childress received his formal music education at the Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied under the tutelage of some of the most renowned classical musicians of the time. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 2007 and went on to pursue a Master of Music degree at the same institution. Childress made his debut as a solo pianist in 2008, performing at the Lincoln Center in New York City. The performance was met with critical acclaim, and Childress was hailed as a rising star in the classical music world.
