Capella Ensemble is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2005 in Moscow, Russia. The ensemble is known for its unique sound and interpretation of classical music, and has gained a reputation as one of the most innovative and exciting ensembles in the world. The founding members of Capella Ensemble were all graduates of the Moscow Conservatory, and shared a passion for classical music and a desire to create a new and exciting sound. The ensemble has also collaborated with some of the world's most celebrated musicians, including conductor Valery Gergiev and violinist Maxim Vengerov. One of the highlights of Capella Ensemble's career was their performance at the 2014 BBC Proms, where they performed a program of works by Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff. The performance was widely praised for its energy and passion, and cemented Capella Ensemble's reputation as one of the most exciting ensembles in the world. Capella Ensemble has also been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades throughout their career. In 2010, the ensemble was awarded the prestigious Diapason d'Or award for their recording of works by Shostakovich.
