Period:RomanticGenre:OperaPeter Subert was born on May 12, 1985, in Vienna, Austria. He was born into a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Subert was exposed to classical music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Subert's talent was quickly recognized, and he began performing in public at the age of six. He won his first competition at the age of eight and went on to win numerous awards throughout his childhood and teenage years. In 2003, Subert was accepted into the prestigious Vienna Conservatory, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Maria Schmidt. During his time at the conservatory, Subert continued to win awards and accolades, including first prize in the International Piano Competition in Salzburg in 2005. After graduating from the conservatory in 2007, Subert began performing professionally, both as a soloist and as part of chamber ensembles. He quickly gained a reputation as a talented and versatile pianist, with a particular affinity for the works of Mozart and Beethoven. In 2010, Subert was invited to perform at the prestigious Salzburg Festival, where he received critical acclaim for his performance of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5. This performance led to further invitations to perform at other major festivals and concert halls around the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic and Carnegie Hall. Subert's career continued to flourish, and he was awarded the prestigious International Classical Music Award in 2013 for his recording of Mozart's Piano Concertos Nos. 20 and 21. He also received the Austrian Music Award in 2015 for his contributions to classical music. In addition to his performing career, Subert is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. He has taught masterclasses at numerous conservatories and universities around the world and has mentored many young pianists who have gone on to successful careers in classical music.
