Benedict Schlepper-Connolly is a contemporary classical music composer hailing from Dublin, Ireland. Born in 1984, Schlepper-Connolly grew up in a musical family, with his father being a composer and his mother a pianist. Schlepper-Connolly began his formal musical education at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, where he studied composition with Kevin O'Connell. One of Schlepper-Connolly's most notable works is his 2014 album, "The Weathered Stone." The album features a collection of pieces for solo piano, performed by Dutch pianist Saskia Lankhoorn. The pieces on the album are inspired by the natural world, with titles such as "Rain," "Wind," and "Stone." The music is sparse and meditative, with a focus on the subtle nuances of the piano's sound. Another notable work by Schlepper-Connolly is his 2017 piece, "Spells." The piece was commissioned by the Irish Chamber Orchestra and premiered at the Kilkenny Arts Festival. "Spells" is a concerto for violin and chamber orchestra, and features soloist Darragh Morgan.
