Artist Info

Sezione Aurea is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2008 in Italy. The group is composed of six musicians who are all highly skilled in their respective instruments. The members of Sezione Aurea are Stefano Barneschi and Marco Bianchi on violin, Daniele Orlando on viola, Francesco Dillon on cello, Andrea Dindo on double bass, and Luca Sanzò on harpsichord. The ensemble takes its name from the mathematical concept of the golden section, which is a ratio that is found in many natural and artistic forms. This concept is reflected in the group's approach to music, which emphasizes precision, balance, and harmony. Sezione Aurea has performed extensively throughout Europe and has gained a reputation for its innovative programming and virtuosic performances. The group has collaborated with many renowned musicians and has been praised for its ability to bring new life to both classical and contemporary repertoire. One of the highlights of Sezione Aurea's career was its performance at the 2010 Salzburg Festival, where the group presented a program of works by Bach, Vivaldi, and Handel. The performance was widely acclaimed by critics and established the ensemble as one of the leading chamber groups in Europe. In addition to its concert performances, Sezione Aurea has also recorded several albums, including a critically acclaimed recording of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos. The group's recordings have been praised for their technical excellence and their ability to capture the energy and spirit of the music. Sezione Aurea has received numerous awards and accolades for its performances and recordings. In 2011, the group was awarded the prestigious Echo Klassik award for its recording of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos. The ensemble has also been recognized for its contributions to contemporary music, receiving the 2013 Premio Abbiati award for its performances of works by Italian composer Salvatore Sciarrino. Despite its success, Sezione Aurea remains committed to exploring new musical territory and pushing the boundaries of classical music. The group continues to perform and record, and its members are dedicated to sharing their passion for music with audiences around the world.
