Dima Orsho is a Syrian-born classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a soprano singer and composer. Born in Damascus in 1985, Orsho grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to music from a young age. Her father was a composer and her mother was a singer, and they encouraged her to pursue her passion for music. Orsho began her formal music education at the age of six, studying the piano and singing. She later attended the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus, where she studied singing and composition. During her time at the institute, she won several awards for her performances and compositions, including the first prize in the National Composition Competition in 2005. In 2006, Orsho moved to Paris to continue her music education at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. She studied with renowned vocal coaches such as Malcolm Walker and Edda Moser, and graduated with a diploma in singing in 2010. After completing her studies, Orsho began performing professionally as a soprano singer. She has performed in major concert halls around the world, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Sydney Opera House. She has also collaborated with renowned conductors such as Daniel Barenboim and Zubin Mehta. One of Orsho's most notable performances was at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in Oslo, Norway. She was invited to perform as a soloist with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, and her performance was widely praised for its emotional depth and beauty. In addition to her work as a singer, Orsho is also a composer. She has written several pieces for voice and orchestra, including "The Sea" and "The Wind." Her compositions have been performed by orchestras around the world, including the London Symphony Orchestra and the Berlin Philharmonic. Orsho's music is deeply influenced by her Syrian heritage.
