Entcho Todorov is a Bulgarian-born classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a violinist, conductor, and educator. Born on May 5, 1973, in Sofia, Bulgaria, Todorov began playing the violin at the age of five. He showed exceptional talent and was soon accepted into the National School of Music in Sofia, where he studied under some of the country's most renowned violinists. In 1991, Todorov moved to the United States to continue his studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music. He studied under David Cerone, one of the most respected violin teachers in the world, and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 1995. He then went on to earn a Master of Music degree from the Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied under Dorothy DeLay. Todorov's talent and dedication to his craft quickly caught the attention of the classical music world. He began performing with some of the most prestigious orchestras in the United States, including the Cleveland Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He also performed as a soloist with many other orchestras around the world, including the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London. One of Todorov's most notable performances was his solo debut at Carnegie Hall in 1998. He performed the Brahms Violin Concerto with the New York Youth Symphony, receiving critical acclaim for his virtuosic playing and emotional depth. This performance helped establish Todorov as one of the most promising young violinists of his generation. In addition to his work as a soloist, Todorov has also made a name for himself as a conductor. He has conducted many orchestras around the world, including the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, the New York Youth Symphony, and the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra. He has also served as the music director of the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra and the Cleveland Pops Orchestra. Todorov's dedication to music education is also noteworthy. He has taught at many prestigious institutions, including the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Juilliard School, and the Manhattan School of Music. He has also served as the artistic director of the Cleveland International Music Festival, which he founded in 2010. Throughout his career, Todorov has received many awards and honors for his contributions to classical music. In 1997, he won the prestigious Young Concert Artists International Auditions, which helped launch his career as a soloist. He has also been awarded the Cleveland Arts Prize and the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture's highest honor, the Order of Cyril and Methodius.
