Ensemble Klingekunst is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2005 in Germany. The ensemble is known for its innovative and experimental approach to classical music, combining traditional instruments with electronic sounds and visuals. The founding members of Ensemble Klingekunst were pianist and composer Stefan Keller, cellist and composer Martin Schütz, and visual artist and composer Marcel Zaes. The three musicians met while studying at the Zurich University of the Arts and quickly discovered a shared interest in exploring new ways of creating and performing classical music. Over the years, Ensemble Klingekunst has expanded to include a rotating cast of musicians and collaborators, including percussionists, vocalists, and electronic musicians. However, Keller, Schütz, and Zaes remain the core members of the ensemble and continue to drive its creative vision. One of the highlights of Ensemble Klingekunst's career was their performance at the 2012 Lucerne Festival in Switzerland. The ensemble presented a program of original compositions that combined acoustic instruments with electronic sounds and visuals, creating a truly immersive and multi-sensory experience for the audience. Ensemble Klingekunst has also been recognized for their innovative approach to classical music, receiving numerous awards and accolades over the years. In 2010, the ensemble was awarded the prestigious Swiss Music Prize, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the Swiss music scene. They have also been featured in numerous international festivals and concert series, including the Berliner Festspiele and the Donaueschinger Musiktage. Despite their success, Ensemble Klingekunst remains committed to pushing the boundaries of classical music and exploring new ways of creating and performing. Through their innovative approach and dedication to experimentation, they have become one of the most exciting and dynamic ensembles in the contemporary classical music scene.
