Pablo Garibay is a renowned classical guitarist from Mexico. He was born on August 22, 1978, in Mexico City. Garibay grew up in a family of musicians, and his father was a guitarist as well. He started playing the guitar at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. Garibay began his formal music education at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City. He studied under the guidance of renowned guitarists such as Alfonso Moreno and Ricardo Gallén. Garibay also attended masterclasses with some of the world's most prominent guitarists, including Manuel Barrueco, David Russell, and Pepe Romero. In 2001, Garibay won first prize at the National Guitar Competition in Mexico. This achievement marked the beginning of his successful career as a classical guitarist. He went on to win several other prestigious awards, including the Francisco Tárrega International Guitar Competition in Spain in 2003 and the Alhambra International Guitar Competition in 2004. Garibay has performed in some of the world's most renowned concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona. He has also performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Mexico City Philharmonic, the National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico, and the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra. One of Garibay's most notable performances was his debut at Carnegie Hall in 2007. He performed a program of works by Spanish composers, including Joaquín Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez. The performance was met with critical acclaim, and Garibay was praised for his virtuosic playing and musical sensitivity. Garibay is also a dedicated chamber musician and has collaborated with some of the world's leading musicians. Garibay's most recent album, "The Guitar Music of Mexico," was released in 2019 and features works by Mexican composers such as Manuel M. Ponce, José Pablo Moncayo, and Mario Lavista. Garibay is known for his passionate and expressive playing, as well as his dedication to promoting the music of his native Mexico.
