Duo Nadàn is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2012 by two talented musicians, violinist Nadia Francavilla and pianist Anne Louise-Turgeon. The duo has since become known for their dynamic and passionate performances, which showcase their exceptional musicianship and deep understanding of the classical repertoire. Nadia Francavilla was born in Italy and began playing the violin at the age of six. She went on to study at the Conservatory of Music in Bari, Italy, and later at the University of Montreal, where she earned a Master's degree in violin performance. Anne Louise-Turgeon, on the other hand, was born in Quebec and began playing the piano at the age of four. She studied at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal and later at the Université de Montréal, where she earned a Doctorate in piano performance. The two musicians first met in 2009, when they were both studying at the University of Montreal. They quickly discovered a shared passion for classical music and began performing together as a duo. In 2012, they officially formed Duo Nadàn and began performing regularly throughout Canada and Europe. One of the highlights of Duo Nadàn's career was their performance at the prestigious Festival de Lanaudière in 2014. The festival, which takes place in Quebec, is one of the largest classical music festivals in Canada and attracts some of the world's most renowned musicians. Duo Nadàn's performance was met with critical acclaim, and they were praised for their technical skill and emotional depth. In addition to their performance at the Festival de Lanaudière, Duo Nadàn has also performed at numerous other festivals and concert series throughout Canada and Europe. They have been featured on CBC Radio and have released several recordings, including their debut album, "Souvenirs d'Italie," which features works by Italian composers such as Paganini and Respighi. Duo Nadàn has also been recognized for their exceptional musicianship with several awards and honors. In 2013, they were awarded the Prix d'Europe, one of the most prestigious music awards in Canada. The award recognizes outstanding young musicians and provides them with financial support to further their studies and careers. In 2015, Duo Nadàn was also awarded the Opus Prize for Concert of the Year in the category "Classical, Romantic, Post-Romantic and Impressionist Music." Despite their success, Duo Nadàn remains committed to their craft and to sharing their love of classical music with audiences around the world. They continue to perform regularly and are known for their engaging and passionate performances, which showcase their exceptional musicianship and deep understanding of the classical repertoire.
