Odile Edouard is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant impact in the world of music. Born on December 12, 1972, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Edouard grew up in a family that was passionate about music. Her father was a pianist, and her mother was a singer, which exposed her to music at a young age. Edouard began her musical journey at the age of six when she started playing the piano. She showed exceptional talent and was soon enrolled in the National Conservatory of Music in Port-au-Prince. She continued her studies at the conservatory until the age of 18, where she graduated with a degree in piano performance. After completing her studies, Edouard moved to France to further her education in music. She enrolled at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where she studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and pedagogue, Jacques Rouvier. She also studied chamber music with Christian Ivaldi and Jean-Claude Pennetier. In 1995, she won the first prize at the International Piano Competition in Senigallia, Italy. She also won the first prize at the International Piano Competition in Epinal, France, in 1996. Edouard's career as a professional musician began in 1997 when she made her debut at the Salle Gaveau in Paris. She performed works by Chopin, Liszt, and Ravel, which received critical acclaim. Her performance was described as "a revelation" by Le Figaro, a French daily newspaper.
