He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a pianist and his mother a singer. At the age of six, Ilton began studying the piano and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. Ilton's parents recognized his potential and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He continued his studies at the Federal University of Paraná, where he earned a degree in piano performance. During his time at the university, Ilton had the opportunity to study with some of the most renowned pianists in Brazil, including Ney Fialkow and Miguel Proença. After completing his studies, Ilton began performing professionally and quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented pianists in Brazil. He performed extensively throughout the country, playing in some of the most prestigious concert halls and festivals. In 2001, Ilton was invited to perform at the International Piano Festival in Rio de Janeiro, where he received critical acclaim for his performance of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14. The following year, he was invited to perform at the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra's annual concert series, where he played Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 to a standing ovation. Ilton's success continued to grow, and he was soon invited to perform at some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Royal Albert Hall in London. He also performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his performances, Ilton was also recognized for his contributions to the world of classical music. In 2005, he was awarded the Brazilian Order of Cultural Merit, one of the country's highest honors for artists and cultural figures. He was also named a UNESCO Artist for Peace in 2010, in recognition of his efforts to promote cultural understanding and peace through music. Throughout his career, Ilton remained committed to promoting classical music and inspiring the next generation of musicians. He frequently gave masterclasses and workshops, and was known for his dedication to teaching and mentoring young pianists. Sadly, Ilton passed away in 2015 at the age of 40, leaving behind a legacy as one of Brazil's most talented and beloved classical musicians.
